Serzh Sargsyan: Armenian diplomats are notable for patriotism

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has sent a congratulatory address on Diplomat’s Day marked in Armenia. According to the presidential press service, the address says:

“Respected diplomats!

I congratulate you on Armenian Diplomat’s Day.

The independent Armenia’s diplomacy has a short but rich history which is full of exemplary manifestations of the protection of national and state interests.

The Armenian diplomats are notable for their patriotism, high professional responsibility and devotion. Thanks to these qualities, our balanced foreign policy based on the awareness of our national interests finds wide understanding in the international arena, making it possible to find efficient and realistic solutions to the problems facing Armenia.

I am convinced that due to your selfless daily activities, we are able to defend the interests of our country and people and enhance Armenia’s reputation in the international arena. In the run-up to the 100th centennial of the Armenian Genocide, I expect the Armenia diplomacy tol double its efforts on the international recognition and condemnation of that crime and the prevention of such crimes in the future.

I am convinced that our diplomatic service will continue - with the same commitment – to make efforts aimed at expanding our cooperation with various countries and increasing the number of our friends worldwide.

On this memorable day I wish you fruitful activity, vigor and energy in our mission of serving the Homeland for a secure and prosperous future of our country”.
