Baghdasarian: Armenia may serve as bridge between EU and CU

Armenia may serve as a bridge between the European Union and the Customs Union as it has enough experience of cooperation with the EU, Secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council (NSC) Arthur Baghdasarian said today during a meeting with Dutch Ambassador to Armenia Hans Horbach, the press service of NSC said.

At the ambassador’s request, A. Baghdasarian spoke about the current situation concerning Armenia-EU cooperation. He said that the NSC held a sitting in February, during which the participants discussed and approved the 2014-2015 draft measures to ensure the implementation of the Armenia-EU Action Plan under the European Neighborhood Policy. The Action Plan includes 160 priority tasks in six directions.

In this connection Arthur Baghdasarian said that Armenia has a good opportunity to become a bridge between the EU and the Customs Union as the country has gathered enough experience of cooperation with the EU.

Arthur Baghdasarian and Hans Horbach also discussed the opportunities of expanding cooperation between the two countries.
