Minasian: Russia unwilling to support Maidan of pro-Russian forces
The legal similarity of the Artsakh and Crimea problems will not help Armenia, while the political precedent should be viewed in another context, political scientist Sergei Minasian said at a meeting with reporters today when commenting on the situation in Ukraine.
In his opinion, the European Union is prepared to sign an association agreement with Ukraine immediately.
“Russia is unwilling to escalate the situation as it doesn’t want to support the Maidan of pro-Russian forces,” Minasian noted, adding that “Russia avoids establishing contacts with new the Ukrainian authorities As regards the Crimea issue, granting great autonomy to Crimea as part of Ukraine is the most likely version”.
