ICRC deals with issue of Armenian citizen in Azerbaijani captivity

The International Committee of the Red Cross is dealing with the issue of Armenian citizen Arsen Khojoyan, 23-year-old resident of Varin Karmiraghbyur village in Tavush province who was taken prisoner yesterday.

“ICRC representatives called me and clarified a number of questions. They are dealing with his issue,” said Kamo Chobanian, administrator of Verin Karmiraghbyur.

In his words, Arsen Khojoyan crossed the border by accident. “He was tending a flock of sheep and lost his way,” Chobanian said.

Arsen Khojoyan was taken captive by the Azerbaijani side at Tovuz settlement around 5:40 pm March 7. According to the Azerbaijani media, he will be questioned today.
