Nikoyan: Azerbaijan put itself outside framework of universal values

Azerbaijan’s inhuman treatment of the Armenian captives is a result of the anti-Armenian policy pursued at the highest level for many years, the ex-speaker of the Armenian parliament Samvel Nikoyan told Aysor.am.

“We are dealing with a perfidious enemy who has put himself outside the framework of universal values and is capable of anything. Due to the policy of that country’s president, the perception of humanism is distorted in Azerbaijan. I am sure that it will work first of all against the Azerbaijani people,” Nikoyan said.

77-year-old Mamikon Nokoyan crossed into Azerbaijan on January 28, 2014. On March 4 he was handed over to Armenia in an extremely critical condition. Numerous traces of violence and a gunshot wound were found on his body.
