Bako Sahakian presents state awards to Arabo detachment soldiers
President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian attended the unveiling of the monument to fallen soldier-liberators in Varanda village of Martuni region, according to the press service of the NKR President’s Office.
B. Sahakian presented state awards of the NKR to a group of soldier-liberators of Arabo detachment on the 22nd anniversary of the liberation of Varanda settlement and for personal courage displayed in battles for the homeland.
In his speech, the president stressed the importance of liberating the settlement from a strategic point of view, noting that it allowed ensuring the security of Martuni region and the whole NKR.
According to Bako Sahakian, the numerous monuments erected in Artsakh and Armenia show that the devoted sons and daughters have not been forgotten and that they continue to serve as an example of patriotism and selflessness for the rising generation.
The event was attended by Defense Minister of the NKR Movses Hakobian, high-ranking officials, and guests from Armenia.
