Events in Ukraine may have negative effect on Armenian economy

The Crimea referendum will not have any impact on Nagorno Karabakh, HHK faction deputy Vardan Aivazian told journalists.

“Case law does not apply to politics, which is not a court of law,” he noted.

“It would seem that the problem should be resolved in the same way, but in case of Karabakh, it is not advantageous to anyone. The strong decide everything in politics and they make decisions in their own interests,” Aivazian said.

“Power engenders law. There is no need to be pro-European or pro-Russian. We should be pro-Armenian. We always relied on this or that force and often made mistakes,” the deputy said.

According to him, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict may have a negative effect on the Armenian economy. “Remittances from Russia and Ukraine are likely to decline,” Vardan Aivazian said.
