Armenian rescuers get INSARAG qualifications

Search and rescue exercises were held in Armenia on March 19-20 as part of the qualification process of the UN International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG).

Skills and knowledge of rescuers, abilities to manage a team and organize medical supplies and logistics were checked during the exercises, according to the press service of Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

A team of 49 rescuers participated in the exercises observed by members of the Polish State Fire Service.

The 36-hour exercises took place in the building of the MES, the ministry’s technical base, the Lusakert base, and in Arzni Gorge.

Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsian was present at the exercises on March 20. The results were summarized by the MES.
