Armenia’s position on right to self-determination unchangeable

Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharian received today the Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta. The meeting took place at the Ukrainian diplomat’s request, according to the press service of Armenian MFA.

At the meeting S. Kocharian reaffirmed that Armenia’s principal position on the right to self-determination is unchangeable and it has been repeatedly expressed for many years.

In his words, the centuries-old relations of the friendly peoples of Armenia and Ukraine form a firm basis, on which cooperation of the two countries is built.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry earlier asked Armenia to express its official position on the recent referendum in Crimea. Ukraine also decided to recall its ambassador to Armenia for consultations in Kiev.
