Gallup International: 88.7% against new pension system in Armenia

Gallup International association has conducted a poll concerning the introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia. According to the poll, 88.7% of respondents are against the new pension scheme, Gallup International representative Gayane Dajunts told reporters today.

According to her, 34.3% of respondents opposed to the compulsory system said they have no guarantees of their pension contributions’ repayment in the future, 32.9% don’t trust the government, and 27.3% said that 5% deductions from their salaries are a large amount.

46.2% of those in favor of the system’s introduction said that the state will make its contribution to the future of citizens, 44.6% beleive they will receive good pensions thanks to the system, and 21.2% indicated the experience of developed countries.
