Hovannisian: Disagreements on Crimea should be solved diplomatically

“The disagreements over Crimea should be resolved diplomatically, through negotiations,” the leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian said today at a discussion about the Ukrainian crisis.

“We are in favor of a negotiated solution. We are against the use of force. As a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Armenia should insist on its participation in all decision making processes,” R. Hovannisian said.

For his part, the counselor of the Ukrainian embassy in Armenia Igor Roman said that the Crimea referendum was a ‘farce’.
“Ukraine will have to participate in both pro-Russian and anti-Russian programs. Ukraine cannot become Russia’s ally in the near future,” he noted.

According to Igor Roman, Russia tries to present Maidan as an “assembly of Fascists’, but in reality Maidan was established by Kiev residents.
