Rustamian: Constitutional Court likely to take intermediate decision
The head of ARFD parliamentary faction Armen Rustamian expressed his opinion during a briefing in the parliament today when commenting on the lawsuit challenging constitutionality of several provisions of the Law on Accumulative Pension. The Constitutional Court (CC) of Armenia is holding today a hearing of the case.
“I have an impression after the first speeches that the facts presented concerning the constitutional violations are irrefutable. I hope that the Constitutional Court will ignore any political pressure, put aside all the political arguments and discuss the issue exclusively from the legal viewpoint,” he noted.
According to Armen Rustamian , he sees no reason why the CC should dismiss the lawsuit. He said that to all appearance, the CC will take an intermediary decision proposing considerable changes.
“At least it is clear that the compulsory component as it is currently used in Armenia should be reviewed,” Rustamian said.
