PM’s resignation was not goal of “I am against’ movement

Participants of ‘I am against’ civil movement do not consider the possibility of becoming members of the Armenian government, the civil movement’s representative David Manukian told reporters today.

In his words, the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was not the goal of their movement, which struggles against the enforcement of the unconstitutional law on the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia.

According to another member of the movement, Hakob Arshakian, the law may have an adverse effect on the Armenian economy as companies will start registering their branches outside Armenia and brain drain is also possible.

On April 3 Armenia’s Constitutional Court has declared several provisions of the law unconstitutional.
