Iskandarian: New prime minister will be representative of authorities
“I think it was clear to everyone that this government will not remain in power for a long time because first, it was in power for many years and secondly, it was not very good for the Armenian economy,” Director of Caucasus Institute, political scientist Alexander Iskandarian told reporters when speaking about the resignation of former Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. In his words, this government could not work until 2018.
“It is not only the prime minister, but also many others will be replaced, but a change in the course of the government’s policy should not be expected,” he noted.
Only one man in the country knows the name of the new prime minister, Iskandarian said. “I am sure that the new prime minister will be a representative of the authorities as I see no reason why Serzh Sargsyan should make concessions to the opposition which is quite weak”.
