New video project ՛The Name of the Fatherland՛. Armen Hovhannisyan

Aysor.am starts a new video project “The Name of the Fatherland” that will feature young men who died “in peacetime” from enemy gunfire, for the sake of the Fatherland.

Today the name of our Fatherland is Armen Hovhannisyan.

On the night of January 19, 2014 , a 30-member Azerbaijani subversive group crossed the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border. Junior Sergeant Armen Levoni Hovhannisyan halted the enemy’s actions at the cost of his life, defending the front-line position entrusted to him and the Homeland. The enemy was repelled.

20-year-old Armen was posthumously awarded the medal for Courage and the Medal for Service to the Homeland. Another eight fellow soldiers of Armen were awarded the Garegin Nzhdeh Order.
