Hatspanian: Even a bird does not fly in Turkey without knowledge of US

“What happened to Armenians of Kessab is the work of the United States, not Turkey. Even a bird does not fly from one tree to another in Turkey without the knowledge of the U.S.,” public figure Sargis Hatspanain told reporters today.

“Turkey is a small U.S. and these countries want to destroy Syria. One should not forget that the U.S. has a military base in Turkey,” he said.

Turkologist Gevorg Petrosian said for his part that Turkey allowed militants to enter Kessab from its territory so as to launch strikes on Latakia from there later.

“Syrian President Bashar Assad’s hometown is in Latakia which is of strategic importance. A campaign has now begun against Turkey in connection with the Kessab events and Turkey does everything to oppose that process. For this reason Turkey assists the elderly residents of Kessab. These people remained alive because it is in Turkey’s interest,” Petrosian said.
