Khachkar erected in military unit of hero soldier Armen Hovhannisian

Khachkars (commemorative cross stones) was erected on April 27 in the military unit of fallen hero Sergeant Armen Hovhannisian and near his frontline position.

Armen’s fellow soldiers recall him saying that “it would be a good thing if a khachkar or a chapel was built at our position”.

Khachkars were erected by efforts of Armen Hovhannisian’s parents. They attended the unveiling ceremony in Artsakh.

Armen Hovhannisian died on the night of January 19-20, 2014. He repelled an attack of an Azerbaijani subversive group at the cost of his life.
