Armenian president signs decree on summer draft and demobilization

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has signed a decree on the 2014 summer draft and demobilization, the presidential press service reported. By the decree, men who have reached the age of 18 by June 30, 2014 inclusive and who have no right to one-year draft deferment will be drafted into compulsory and alternative military service in May-July 2014.

By the same decree, servicemen who completed their military service at the stated time will be demobilized in May-July 2014.

The Armenian government was instructed to take a respective decision within two weeks to ensure the decree’s implementation.
