Alvar village administrator dies in car crash

Alvar village administrator Artavazd Mkrtchian died this morning in the Gyumri medical center, Aysor.am was informed by the medical center director Armen Isahakian.

In his words, A. Mkrtchian received 3rd and 4th degree burns involving 97% of his body surface.

Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations said that information about a car crash near Alvar village in Shirak province was received at 10:30 am yesterday. It was found that an Infinity vehicle left the road, fell into a 200 meter gorge and caught fire.

According to Shamshyan.com, prior to the crash the village administrator’s wife, 61, and his daughter-in-law were taken to the Gyumri medical center with stab wounds. Village residents said A. Mkrtchian stabbed them in a domestic dispute. He then went out and had the car accident.
