Catholicos Karekin II wishes success to new parliamentary speaker

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II received today the Armenian parliamentary speaker Galust Sahakian in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, according to the information services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Karekin II congratulated Galust Sahakian on his election as speaker of the parliament and wished him fruitful activity.

During a conversation, Karekin II and Galust Sahakian discussed relations between the Armenian Apostolic Church and the National Assembly as well as the consolidating role of the Armenian Church as an exclusively national structure. In this connection Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his satisfaction with efficient cooperation between the Armenian parliament and the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Galust Sahakian highly appreciated the role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the country’s national life, stressing the need for joint efforts to overcome the challenges facing the Armenian people. Catholicos Karekin II and NA Speaker Galust Sahakian underlined the importance of further cooperation.
