OEK faction submits accumulative pension draft to parliament

Orinats Yerkir (OEK) faction has submitted a draft law on amendments to the Law on Accumulative Pensions to the Armenian parliament. The draft rejects the compulsory component and proposes the principle of free choice, deputy of OEK faction Hovhannes Margarian told journalists today.

Discussing pension reforms in Armenia, he said: “We submitted a draft law. I know that our colleagues from the four non-coalition factions also presented their proposals to the government. From the viewpoint of content, we want the compulsory component to be abolished”.

According to Hovhannes Margarian, OEK Party will show consistency and actively submit drafts as there are many problems. For example, the issue of traffic fines which are disproportionate to population’s incomes is at the center of their attention now, the deputy said.
