Shavarsh Kocharian: The elements voiced by J. Warlick are not new
Two conditions are necessary in order to advance the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharian said.
"It is obvious to everyone that two conditions are necessary. Not conditions set by one party, but natural, logical conditions. First, an atmosphere of trust should exist between the parties, otherwise there can be no progress in such complex issues. Secondly, the main conflicting party – Nagorno Karabakh should be involved in talks as a full-fledged party,” Shavarsh Kocharian told reporters on Friday.
In his words, there will be no progress as long as Azerbaijan hinders the fulfillment of those two conditions.
According to S. Kocharian, the six elements voiced by the U.S. Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick are not new.
“The meaning of Warlick’s speech and his desire is to advance the problem resolution. These elements have always been on the agenda,” the Armenian deputy foreign minister noted.
