France to continue efforts towards peaceful Karabakh resolution
As a Co-chair state of the OSCE Minsk Group, France feels responsible for the Karabakh conflict settlement, French President Francois Hollande said at a press conference today following his talks with Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
Hollande was quoted by ITAR-TASS news agency as saying that his country will continue efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In Hollande’s words, one purpose of his visit is to discuss the opportunities of advancing the peace process.
“France has friendly relations with both Armenia and Azerbaijan. We do not make any difference between these countries. The main aim is to achieve a meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents and progress in the conflict settlement because this conflict hinders regional development and contacts of people,” the French president stated.
