Activist Gevorg Safaryan hospitalized

Activist Gevorg Safaryan has been taken to the second clinical hospital of Yerevan, Aysor.am was informed by an employee of the hospital’s admission room.

The employee said Safaryan was admitted to hospital a short time ago. He was x-rayed and has no injuries or fractures.

When asked why Safaryan was hospitalized in this case, the employee replied Safaryan was still undergoing a medical examination.

The Armenian police earlier in the day detained seven civil activists protesting the renaming of Mashtots Park in downtown Yerevan after France’s National Hero of Armenian descent Missak Manuchian.

Aysor.am was informed by the press service of the police that administrative offence reports were drawn up concerning six activists who refused to obey lawful orders of law enforcers. Materials concerning Gevorg Safaryan are being prepared.
