S. Ohanyan and mediators discuss situation in Karabakh conflict zone
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on May 16 received OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs Igor Popov of Russia, James Warlick of the U.S., and Jacques Faure of France, and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, according to the press service of Armenian Defense Ministry.
The sides discussed the situation on the Line of Contact in the Karabakh conflict zone and the developments that took place since the last meeting with Co-chairs on February 5, 2014.
The Armenian defense minister spoke about the main incidents on the Line of Contact and made his comments about prospects of reducing tension and establishing mutual trust between the sides.
Attaching importance to traditional meetings with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs, Seyran Ohanyan said that any political solution concerning the Karabakh settlement should be based on well-founded professional and expert conclusions of military sphere.
During the meeting Ambassador Jacques Faure introduced Pierre Andieux to Seyran Ohanyan. P. Andieux will replace J. Faure as French Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
