Artsvik Minasyan: Society should not be kept on edge all the time

“Why do you constantly flare up tensions, why do you declare from this rostrum that the compulsory accumulative system will be in force?” the deputy of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun faction Artsvik Minasyan said in the National Assembly today during the discussion over the appointment of Arthur Javadyan as chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA).

Under the Constitution, the Armenian president proposes a candidate for CBA chairman and the parliament holds a secret ballot on the candidate.

“It is wrong to keep society on edge all the time. It is wrong to repeat the same thing from this rostrum so many times,” Artsvik Minasyan said resentfully.

We would remind you that in response to a question of HAK deputy Nikol Pashinyan, the candidate for CBA chairman Arthur Javadyan said that measures should be taken so that the ‘design’ of the Law on Accumulative Pensions would be in line with the Constitutional Court’s decision. “Without the compulsory component, the law will lose its driving force,” Javadyan noted.
