Goris mayoral candidate Ara Budaghyan drops out of race

Candidate for Goris city mayor Ara Budaghyan has dropped out of the race, the chairman of election commission of electoral district No 37 Armen Stepanyan told Aysor.am.

‘The commission will hold a sitting at 3:00 pm and his application for withdrawal will enter into force,” he said.

Ara Budaghyan told Aysor.am that he took such a decision to help his friend Tigran Karapetyan who is also a candidate for Goris mayor. Budaghyan denied rumors that his decision is related to pressure put on him.

The elections of Goris mayor are due on June 8. The candidates are Tigran Karapetyan, Hrayr Yolyan, and Vachagan Adunts.
