Rustamyan: Parliamentary majority found itself in shaky position

The parliamentary majority has found itself in a shaky position as the absence of any deputy may become a problem during a vote, the head of ARFD faction Armen Rustamyan said in the National Assembly today.

“The government program’s adoption in that way shows that it cannot be considered as a good indication of success because the parliamentary majority could hardly secure the necessary votes,” the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun deputy noted.

In his words, there were media reports that some deputies voted instead of their absent colleagues. He said that in the future such phenomena should be ruled out in the parliament.

The decision of the four non-coalition parties not to participate in a vote makes the Republican Party of Armenia mobilize its forces, Rustamyan said.

Being acquainted with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and some members of the government, Rustamyan expressed hope that changes will occur in Armenia.
