Arthur Baghdasaryan may run in 2018 presidential elections

The leader of Orinats Yerkir Party (OEK), former secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council Arthur Baghdasaryan is likely to run in the 2018 presidential elections, the secretary of OEK parliamentary faction Ms. Heghine Bisharyan told Aysor.am.

“It does not mean that Baghdasaryan is already preparing for elections. We declared that he will probably become a presidential candidate, but it is too early to speak about it,” she said.

‘Zhoghovurd’ paper reported today that A. Baghdasaryan said at a meeting with OEK members that he already got the go-ahead from Moscow, namely from Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha and Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.
