NKR DM confirms death of lieutenant-colonel of NKR Defense Army

Lieutenant Colonel Garik Balayan was killed by an enemy bullet yesterday, on May 25, on a frontline position in a military unit of the NKR Defense Army in the southern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, according to the press service of NKR Defense Ministry.

The Defense Ministry of NKR shares the grief of the bereavement and expresses its support to Garik Balayan’s family, friends and fellow servicemen.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
