V. Sargsyan: Armenia to take active part in all international events
Multi-structural regional commissions were set up ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. They display principled approaches and coordinate work of the Diaspora in other countries, Chief of the Armenian Presidential Staff, coordinator of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide Vigen Sargsyan said during a briefing today.
“By efforts of these structures, a series of events will be organized in 2015 in Armenian churches of various countries. We see the role of the state commission in assisting the regional commissions. No doubt, these structures are more familiar with specificity of the local audience and we should support all measures taken by them. These structures have prepared very impressive events that we are discussing today,” V. Sargsyan said.
He stressed that Armenian Genocide-dedicated events in various formats will be organized on the largest and most famous arenas in 2015.
According to V. Sargsyan, Armenia will take an active part in all international exhibitions, festivals and cultural events.
As regards the events scheduled for April 24, 2015, Vigen Sargsyan said they are still in the completion stage. “Additional information will be provided about these events,” he said.
Vigen Sargsyan noted that Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II said at the commission sitting today that the Armenian Apostolic Church took a decision to canonize the victims of the Armenian Genocide in 2015.
