Ohanyan: Armenian servicemen gave fitting rebuff to Azerbaijanis
Armenian servicemen yesterday gave a fitting rebuff to the reconnaissance-subversive actions of Azerbaijani units, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters during his visit to the Sardarapat Memorial today.
Speaking about the enemy’s reconnaissance-subversive actions on the night of May 27-28, Ohanyan stressed that as a rule the Azerbaijani side launches such actions on certain days.
“I talked to Defense Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Movses Hakobyan and I want to assure you again that it was Azerbaijan that made the incursion,” S. Ohanyan noted. In his words, one Armenian serviceman was killed and several wounded.
“The wounded soldiers are in satisfactory condition. All guys who are ready to sacrifice their lives for the security of our country deserve praise and glory,” the minister stressed.
We would remind you that around 2:55 am today Azerbaijan attempted yet another reconnaissance-subversive incursion in the southern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
The press service of NKR Defense Ministry reported that the frontline units of NKR Defense Army noticed in time the advance of an Azerbaijani special detachment, took retaliatory actions and repelled the enemy.
According to preliminary information, at least two Azerbaijani servicemen were killed and another one was injured.
The Karabakh side suffered a casualty – 19-year-old Corporal Erik Gasparyan was killed in close-in fighting.
