Prime ministers of Armenia and Belarus discuss cooperation prospects

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met with Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Myasnikovich today in Minsk prior to the sitting of heads of governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), according to the press service of Armenian government.
M. Myasnikovich congratulated Hovik Abrahamyan on his appointment as prime minister and reaffirmed his readiness to persistently deepen cooperation with Armenia.

The two prime ministers discussed issues on the agenda of Armenian-Belarusian economic cooperation. They expressed satisfaction with results of the implementation of bilateral agreements and appreciated the current level of relations, stressing the necessity to further increase the commodity turnover.

The sides also addressed issues related to imports of Belarusian farm machinery into Armenia and exports of Armenian farm produce to Belarus and the promotion of cooperation both in the bilateral format and within the CIS framework.

The interlocutors exchanges views on Armenia’s upcoming membership in the Customs Union and expressed satisfaction with the process. M. Myasnikovich stated that Belarus will support Armenia’s efforts in that direction.
