S. Ohanyan visits hospital, awards soldiers who repelled subversive attack

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan visited today a military hospital and met with the servicemen who repelled the Azerbaijani subversive attack on May 28. The minister spoke to the soldiers, encouraged them and handed Defense Ministry medals to them at the end of the meeting, according to Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan.

The Azerbaijani side attempted yet another reconnaissance-subversive incursion on the night of May 28. The frontline units of Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s Defense Army noticed in time the advance of the Azerbaijani special detachment and took retaliatory actions. The enemy retreated, suffering significant losses. At least two Azerbaijani servicemen were killed and another was wounded. The NKR Defense Army had one casualty: Corporal Erik Gasparyan, 19, was killed in close-in fighting.
