NKR president convenes Security Council sitting

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan convened today a sitting of the Security Council. The agenda included issues related to the organization of a safe harvest of grain crops and an efficient fight against fires, as well as the demographic indices of the NKR in 2013 and the first quarter of 2014.

Reports were made by Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan, Agriculture Minister Andranik Khachatryan, Director of the State Service of Emergency Situations Arthur Harutyunyan, Chairman of the National Statistical Service Karen Nersisyan, and other officials, the press service of the NKR President Office said.

The president of NKR gave instructions to the government and ministries concerning solution of the discussed problems.

B. Sahakyan instructed the government to set up headquarters headed by the minister of agriculture by June 15, 2014 for the efficient organization of the harvest.

The government was also instructed to examine the demographic issues, if necessary to amend the draft program of integrated actions on improvement of the demographic situation in the NKR, and to submit it to the president.
