Hearings on Astana statements may be held in Armenian parliament
Although the speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahakyan believes that there is no need to hold parliamentary hearings in connection with the May 29 sitting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana and the subsequent events, nevertheless these hearings will be organized.
“I will ask one of the commiitees to assume responsibility for organizational work,” the speaker said during a briefing, noting that answers to all the questions will probably be given at the traditional government hour in the National Assembly. He added that hearings could be held on June 16-17 in case of need.
We would remind you that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev read the letter of Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev at the May 29 sitting in Astana and then said, addressing Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan: “So as not to excite our friend in Azerbaijan, you should join the Eurasian Union with the borders fixed in the UN as you joined the WTO”.
