Shots fired from Azerbaijan prior to OSCE Mission monitoring

Today, on June 10, in accordance with an agreement with the authorities of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, the OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan in the Hadrut direction near Horadiz settlement, according to the press service of NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From the positions of the NKR Defense Army, the monitoring was conducted by the Field Assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine), Staff Member of the Office Peter Svedberg, and the OSCE High Level Planning Group representative, Lieutenant-Colonel Dan Harvey (Switzerland).

From the opposite side the monitoring was held by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, his Field Assistant Christo Christov (Bulgaria), and the OSCE High Level Planning Group representative, Colonel Ilhami Degirmencioglu (Turkey).

Prior to the monitoring, shots were reported from the Azerbaijani side at Karabakh positions, but the monitoring passed in accordance with the agreed schedule. However, the Azerbaijani side did not lead the OSCE Mission to its frontlines.

From the Karabakh side, the Mission was accompanied by representatives of the NKR Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.
