Russian foreign minister to pay official visit to Armenia

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to Yerevan on June 22-23 at the invitation of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will receive Sergei Lavrov. The foreign ministers of the countries are expected to hold talks.

At the meetings the sides will discuss the implementation of the agreements reached during the Russian president’s visit to Armenia on December 2, the allied relations between Armenia and Russia, the deepening of military cooperation, and the process of Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Union. On the agenda are issues related to the expansion of commercial and economic links and the deepening of decentralized cooperation.

The sides will also discuss the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs’ efforts to advance negotiations on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. Regional and international problems will be addressed as well.
