Pashinyan: Kiselev should be declared persona non grata in Armenia

An inadmissible event took place during the meeting of the Armenian-Russian Club in Armenia’s National Assembly yesterday: in a disrespectful tone, Russian journalist Dmitry Kiselev made a statement with a subtext concerning the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian language, the Armenian people and their goals, the deputy of Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Nikol Pashinyan said at the sitting of the Armenian parliament today.

It should be noted that Director General of Russia Today agency Dmitry Kiselev said in the Armenian parliament yesterday that if due attention is not paid to the Russian language in Armenia, it will affect Armenian-Russian security cooperation and become a real problem for Armenia’s security.

“I think that Foreign Ministry should discuss the issue of declaring Kiselev an ‘undesirable person’ - a persona non grata in the territory of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.

The HAK faction deputy also denounced the Armenian parliament deputies present at the meeting. According to Pashinyan, they did not rise to the occasion.

“I believe Armenia should send a clear message to all foreigners to the effect that any foreigner displaying such behavior will get a fitting response,” he noted.
