Disabled drivers to be exempted from parking duty

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan submitted a draft decision about exemption of disabled drivers from the state parking duty to the Yerevan Council of Elders, the press service of Yerevan Municipality said.

By the draft, all disabled people who will present an application and the disability certificate to Yerevan Municipality will be exempted from the parking duty.

Member of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction of Yerevan Council of Elders Grigor Minasyan participated in the draft’s preparation. He also proposed allocating parking spaces for disabled drivers only.

The draft law is in line with Armenia’s international obligations related to the rights of the disabled, the country’s legislative guarantees, and international experience.
