Swedish embassy opens in Armenia

The opening ceremony of the Swedish embassy in Yerevan took place today in the presence of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan and Swedish Trade Minister Eva Bjorling, the press service of Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

The ceremony was preceded by a meeting of E. Nalbandyan and E. Bjorling, during which the sides stressed the importance of developing and expanding Armenian-Swedish relations. Edward Nalbandyan underlined the fact that a representative delegation of Swedish businessmen arrived in Armenia together with Eva Bjorling.

For her part Eva Bjorling welcomed the opening of the Swedish embassy in Armenia and the organization of the business forum which will give impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation.

Among the agenda issues were promotion of cooperation of the two countries in international organizations, bilateral trade and economic links, and that exchange in educational and cultural spheres, as well as the expansion of the legal contractual framework, and Armenia-EU cooperation issues.
