Lieutenant Colonel Garik Balayan posthumously awarded Medal for Courage

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan signed a decree, awarding the Medal for Courage to the commander of the infantry sub-unit of a military unit, Lieutenant Colonel Garik Balayan for bravery during the defense of the NKR state border, the press service of the NKR President Office said.

Garik Balayan is one of the servicemen who repelled a subversive attack of the Azerbaijani side on May 26 in the southern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of the NKR and Azerbaijan.

Another soldier, 20-year-old Ashot Grigoryan, was wounded.
