Parliament sitting interrupted due to absence of deputy finance minister
The special sitting of the Armenian parliament today was interrupted due to the absence of Deputy Finance Minister Vakhtang Mirumyan who was expected to present the draft law on accounting in public sector institutions.
The deputy minister did not arrive in the parliament. This circumstance annoyed the parliamentary vice speaker Edward Sharmazanov who exercised his powers to stop the special sitting of the National Assembly.
“As the government representative cannot arrive in the parliament for some unknown reason, I want to apologize to you, but in order to ensure normal work of the National Assembly, I should break the Rules of Procedure of the NA and end the sitting so that government members and the rapporteur will understand that they must arrive on time,” E. Sharmazanov noted.
“I don’t think that deputies should sit here and wait for the rapporteur. I will close the sitting. See you at 11 tomorrow,” Sharmazanov said.
