Four factions intend to apply to Constitutional Court

The parliament heads repeatedly violated the Rules of Procedure at the sitting of the National Assembly today, restricting the rights of deputies, the secretary of Prosperous Armenia (BHK) faction Ms. Naira Zohrabyan said at the joint press conference of the four opposition factions.

“The non-government forces tried to stop the debate of a number of government-submitted controversial legislative packages without public discussions. On the agenda was also the law on pension reforms rejected by the majority of society. An attempt was made to pass it in gross violation of the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly. Such a work style undermines the positions of our state. We state that the vote on that law is invalid and we will continue our struggle against that law,” N. Zohrabyan said.

The secretary of ARFD faction Aghvan Vardanyan said for his part that the current authorities deepen the mistrust in society instead of unifying it and trying to solve the problems together.

“We will apply to the Constitutional Court regarding the current situation and the vote on the bill, during which violations took place,” A. Vardanyan noted. In his words, nobody doubts that Republican Party of Armenia will put the draft on accumulative pensions to the vote on second reading.

The representatives of the four factions declared again that they will not participate in the parliament work.
