Harutyunyan: Cunning tricks of Davutoglu known to all

“Dear Mr. Davutoglu, your cunning tricks are known to all – just as Ankara’s decision concerning the Armenian Genocide. So at first you should open the border with Armenia – prior to writing such lyrical opuses,” expert in literature Artyom Harutyunyan said at a press conference in Yerevan today, addressing the Turkish prime minister.

Harutyunyan particularly commented on Ahmet Davutoglu’s recent article “Turkish-Armenian Relations: Is a “Just Memory” Possible?” published in “Turkish Policy” magazine. In his article, the Turkish foreign minister says that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement with condolences issued, on April 23, 2014 - the eve of the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, may become a basis for further steps.

“Turkey is unable to recognize the perpetrated crime in some way: if Ankara had conscience, it would recognize the Genocide,” Harutyunyan noted.

In his words, the Armenian side should conduct skilful negotiations with the opponent in the person of Turkey.
