Putin: EaEU is not an attempt to be alienated from rest of the world

The Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) is not an attempt to become alienated from the rest of the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

“While advancing the Eurasian integration project, we are not becoming alienated from the rest of the world. We are ready to discuss the prospects of creation of free trade zones with separate states and regional organizations, first of all the European Union,” Putin said during a consultation of Russian ambassadors and permanent representatives. In his words, EaEU causes great interest among CIS partners.

“Armenia will become the union’s full member in the nearest future. Talks with Kyrgyzstan are at an advanced stage. We are open to other countries of the CIS as well,” V. Putin stressed.
