Gegharkunik governor pledges to help Vardenis residents

Governor of Armenia’s Gegharkunuk province Rafik Grigoryan went today to see the consequences of strong winds that hit the city of Vardenis recently, the employee of Verdenis municipality Sahak Stepanyan told Aysor.am.

Yesterday the residents of Vardenis houses damaged by the winds blocked the highway to the city.

“They demanded that Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan should come, familiarize himself with the situation and promise to pay compensation. The governor today visited Vardenis. He saw the situation and promised that building materials will be provided for repairs of all the damaged houses,” Stepanyan said.

As for two children who received injuries in the strong winds, they are feeling well now, the municipality employee said.

Around 4:30 pm on June 29 strong winds hit the city of Vardenis, damaging roofs of 30-35 houses. Two children were hospitalized. They suffered injuries from broken glass.
