Department head: Hotline keeps school and kindergarten heads vigilant
This school year the hotline of Yerevan Municipality received 90 complaints from city kindergartens and 85 calls from schools as compared with 140 calls last year, the head of the municipality’s general education department Ms. Gayane Soghomonyan said at a meeting with journalists today.
“Following those hotline calls, disciplinary punishment was imposed on many heads and employees of schools and kindergartens,” she said, adding the hotline operates efficiently and keeps everyone vigilant.
Summarizing the results of the 2013-2014 educational year, G. Soghomonyan said considerable funds were spent on repairs of kindergartens.
“28 kindergartens were repaired in the capital city last year. More importantly, 12 special kindergartens opened with the assistance of Education and Science Ministry and the World Bank. 300 children attend these kindergartens,” she said.
Speaking about the use of information technology in schools, the department head said that computer rooms were created and equipped with modern equipment at 15 schools of Yerevan.
