Gagik Harutyunyan: External forces try to frustrate constitutional reforms
Chairman of Armenia’s Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunyan denied rumors that the constitutional reforms in the country are aimed at ruling out the possibility of former Presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s and Robert Kocharyan’s return to power.
“This talk is from the realm of political populism,” Harutyunyan said, adding that such comments on constitutional amendments may pose a threat.
“For example, there are serious external forces that have gathered large youth structures here and set the goal to frustrate the process of constitutional reforms – with promises of considerable grants,” the Constitutional Court chairman said.
