10,284 babies born in Yerevan in first 6 months of 2014

On the instructions of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, constant control over the quality of health services is exercised in medical institutions under the jurisdiction of Yerevan Municipality. Regular checks conducted by municipality officials showed that the number of patent visits to medical institutions made 1, 058,396 in first six months of this year, including 42,874 visits to patients’ homes, according to the municipality’s press department.

7,384 out of 10,974 citizens who applied to city hospitals in the indicated period were given free health services funded by the state. 3,799 surgeries were performed as compared to 3,618 in the same period of last year.

Over 26,000 women applied to medical institutions of Yerevan during Women’s Health Month initiated by the municipality. 2 thousand underwent surgery.

Ambulance Service of Yerevan responded to 113,272 calls in January-July 2014. 21, 333 patients were hospitalized.
